Joe and Jannie Darrow
InFaith / Kensington
Joe and Janie feel called to reach inner-city communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Joe has been serving in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia since 1988. He helped plant Cornerstone Community Church to bring hope to the community through Christ, reaching the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. In 2013, he started working with David and Lisa Grainge to replant a local church in South Philadelphia, a community of ever-increasing immigrants and refugees.
Janie lived and served in Japan for most of her life, working as a nurse. She has had a ministry to women and their children over the past 30 years. Joe and Janie got married in 2022, and together they have a passion for discipleship and hospitality. In addition to serving those in the Kensington community, they seek to pour into their 9 children and 19 grandchildren.
Prayer Requests:
- Pray that the Lord would bless Joe and Janie’s discipleship groups and those whom they mentor. Pray especially for their ministry to young boys who do not have male role models in the home. Pray both for these boys and their families.
- Pray for the many needs in Kensington where crime, drug and alcohol abuse, insufficient housing, and lack of education are common. Pray that they would find hope in Jesus Christ.
- Pray for Cornerstone Community Church, that they would be a beacon of hope in the community. Pray that through their ministries and outreach events, the Lord would transform the hearts of many through the power of his gospel.
