Revelation: A Call to Perseverance

The Book of Revelation can be intimidating to readers. It is filled with strange images, visions, symbols, and patterns. It can sometimes make us think that we have no business reading it, let alone understanding it. But, like Paul said, “Whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through the perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope” (Romans 15:4). As we work through Revelation piece by piece we will find that it is indeed written for our instruction, not so that we will get all of the pieces of our end-times timeline right, but so that we will persevere in our faith in the midst of suffering and struggle, keeping our eyes ever focused on the final victory and vindication of Him who sits on the Throne!
